Successful Personal Financial Planning
To be successful over the long term in your personal financial
planning, you must learn to make sacrifices in today’s spending to save for
future needs. This can be difficult because our inner Caveman is more worried
about meeting todays needs and has a lot less concern about the future
especially the distant future 20, 30, or even 60 years down the road.
Also we need to develop balanced view towards money and happiness.
o Money very simply is just:
o A tool to acquire goods and services.
o Security against an uncertain world.
o A way to achieve future dreams.
o Our perspectives and views regarding money are influenced by our surrounding environment.
o People raised with little money may live with an irrational fear of not having enough.
o People raised with too much money may not appreciate the sacrifices necessary to obtain the money.
